Oh boy, obento! Today we're having raw broccoli, stir-fried soy ginger tofu, cherries and blueberries, brown sticky rice with a little dried red pepper sprinkled on top, bell pepper and onion confit, sprouted lentils (under the beans krakers), and more shiki no ka bean cakes.

This one is mine. I was so tired this morning I ended up getting out of bed later than usual, so I didn't have time for anything fancy. The peppers and onion confit was made a few days ago (I froze a whole bunch of it specifically for days like today). I cubed up some tofu and soaked it in Whole Foods' 365 brand soy ginger marinade while I was in the shower, then I stir-fried it when I was done getting dressed (about 30 minutes later). Everything else is self-explanatory.
Beans krakers were on the menu at one of the restaurants we visited in Japan. Shawna, Elliot, Scott and I were endlessly amused by their menu, which also featured many "vegetalian" dishes such as
CHEESEPICKLES. I imagine beans krakers were actually manjuu or bean cakes similar to the ones I've been putting in our obento the last few days.
I'm not super happy with how these turned out since I didn't have time to do anything fancy, but I am super happy that I bothered to pack lunch at all today. I haven't eaten fast food once this week! That is a very drastic reduction in consumption of junk (liiiike, from 5 days of crap food to 0? :D). Consumption junktion? What's your function? Ok, that's enough of that. Happy weekend, everyone!
